Yahya ibn Urwa narrated to me from his father's source that after the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Makkah, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud recited the Qur'an aloud. One day the companions of Rasulullah Kareem (peace be upon him) were discussing together and then it was discovered that the Quraysh had not yet heard the Qur'an recited aloud. The question is, who will read the Qur'an aloud to them? Then Abdullah said, he will do that. Everyone said, you can't trust him to do this. They want a man of influential lineage who can defend himself if they all attack together. Abdullah replied, "Let me do it alone, because God will save me."
The next morning he went to the precincts of the Holy Kaaba. The Quraysh then sat in the meeting. He reached Ibrahim in Makkah, ‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.’ He read, ‘He is the Most Merciful, the One who taught the Qur’an.’ Then he turned to them so that everyone could see him. They said, "What is this slave's son saying?"
When they all realized that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was reciting the prayers that he was reciting, they immediately got up and started punching him in the face. He did not frown, but fell. Because, God willing, he must fall. Then he went to his companions, with scars on their faces. They said, "That's exactly what we feared."
He said, ‘I have never before felt so hostile to the enemies of God. If you say so, I will go again tomorrow and do the same thing in front of them. '
They said, ‘No, you have done enough. You tell them what they don't want to hear. '
