Amal and Fazilat of Surah Mulk

Surah Al-Mulk. The 8th surah of the Holy Quran revealed in the holy city of Makkah. Verse number 30. Ruku 2. The Surah is very virtuous for those who practice the recitation of the Qur'an. Which he used to recommend to his reciter until he forgave him.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described many deeds in the Qur'aan and Sunnah to give people a sinless life. The goal is the same so that people can live a sinless life. This is also one of them. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to a man, "Shall I recite to you a hadith which you will be happy to hear?" He replied, "Yes, listen."

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Recite Surah Mulk yourself and teach it to your family and neighbors, for it is the liberator and the disputant." On the Day of Resurrection, he will argue with Allah and save his reader from the torment of Hell and from the torment of the grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘My sincere wish is that this Surah should be memorized in the hearts of every Ummah of mine.’ (Ibn Kathir)

- Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that there is a surah in the Qur'an with 30 (thirty) verses, which must be recommended for the reciter until he is forgiven. And the surah is تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ meaning Surah Mulak.

'(Musnad Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah)

- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘My mind wants every believer to memorize Surah Mulk in his heart.’ (Bayhaqi)

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘Learn Surah Mulk and teach your wives and children. It will save him from the torment of the grave and will set him free on the Day of Resurrection by speaking on behalf of the reader of this Surah in the Court of Allah. '

- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Whoever recites Surah al-Mulk regularly will be freed from the torment of the grave.’ (Tirmidhi, Hakim to Mustadra)

It is better to recite Surah Mulk at night, but it can be recited at any other time. The meaning of the surah has a unique significance in regular reading. It is better to recite this Surah with prayers. If you don't memorize it, you will get a special reward if you understand the meaning by looking at it. It has been narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would not go to bed at night without reciting Surah al-Mulk. '(Tirmidhi)

- Hazrat Jabir Radiyallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never went to sleep without reciting Alif Lam Mim Tanzil and Tabarakallaji. '

- Recitation of Surah 41 times (forty one) saves from all dangers and repays the debt. By reciting this Surah one can also be saved from the torment of the grave.

It is to be noted that based on the narration that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not go to sleep without reciting Surah Mulk, the scholars and the religious scholars in Buzurgan said to recite Surah Mulk after Isha prayers. Therefore, Surah Mulak can be recited before going to bed at night or after Isha prayers.
